The Serenity Prayer - long version

I have known the Serenity Prayer my entire life - a needlepoint of it hung above our kitchen table when I was growing up - but I just discovered there is a longer version!

Just wanted to share it, for anyone else who did not know there is more than what we say in meetings.

Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

(Although known most widely in its abbreviated form above,
the entire prayer reads as follows...)

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And the original version is also at this link: http://thevoiceforlove.com/serenity-prayer.html

Hey OP - thanks for sharing! I do love this...it's on my wall in my office, my bedroom and the shortened version is in my bathroom....I need all the tools and reminders I can get.

Thank you so much for this. I was unaware of a longer version! I have copied this and read it morning and night. I usually am already reciting the short version several times a day! The rest of it speaks and speaks to me!
