Hospice - (edited)

This morning at 9 AM I am meeting with my Hospice worker for first time. It will be an in-home visit. Yes, my health condition is really so bad that its now time to start putting a solid treatment team together so my transition from flesh, to spirit can go forward with some level of dignity in caring hands. It saddens me some that I will not have someone from my support network or family with me during this part of the journey. I am a little bit scared, anxious, with a huge window of unknowns for me yet. However, I do not feel alone at all. I know God is on this journey with me. He will hold, protect and comfort me just as He has every day for 27 years of Sobriety. He will be there with me and for me. This I do believe with my heart of hearts. How can I possibly know this? Because I worship a God that is All Forgiving, Full of Grace, with an abundance of Mercy. In short, I did not need to earn His Love. He freely gave and continues to give it to me.
If you'd like to visit me and exchange some Love (God), get and give a hug...
that would make my heart smile.
Now, here's nutso John... "Gawh, that lady sounds so pretty on the phone, maybe she's my next girlfriend!!". LMAO

Dearest John......Know you are not traveling this journey alone. We are all with you in thought, prayer and spirit. Hospice is Amazing. I have worked hospice as a nurse, and am now on this journey with my Mother. My qualifier. JOHN!!! What about Skype?! Do You Have a Skype account? We can visit you face to face if not in your proximity!!! Or, IPhone.....Skype might be easier should you enjoy chatting with your Grateful Family here! Looking forward to your answer.

What can we do? We can send comfy cozy sheet sets, pillows, clothing...warm and snuggly? What sizes John. Socks. Lotion...good ones with low alcohol content that is drying and may burn. Fav colors, fabrics etc. I noticed your John Deere things.

John, Hospice has volunteers who will come sit with you, chat with you, play a game if you want, listen to music, read to you, write letters for you......your new friends from God John.....Praying for an extra special one who can maybe help you contact any loved ones you would like too? Kleenex! Draw sheets......flat sheets that can be placed underneath him to help turn him easily.  T-Shirt type hoodies, as I know too well, coldness can be too close of an uninvited guest.  Fun ones would be cool! No, I mean warm:)

Dear Friends, facing your own mortality is frightening, and takes work.  So John, you can talk about it all.  We will listen, and not judge.  Not our job.  But, we will support you!  Stand beside you ALL The WAY.  I speak from my experience with my cancer battle, and being told for some days they did not know if I would pull through.

May the Lord Bless You, May He Keep You, May He Protect You. Hugs and Kisses  Linda

Dear John

I have not been on this board for a few years but I know that God led me here today. When I had no one to turn to in 2006, after discovering my husband had relapsed, Miracles In Progress was here. Your kind words and everyone's support got me through hard night's, difficult days, graduate school and years of tremendous growth.

Thank YOU. God sent you to us and I know you are in his loving arms. You are a gift!! <3
