Courage to Change reading 11-26-2016

The C2C reading for November 26 speaks about alcoholism being a family disease and that many of us upon entering the program do not feel as if we belong.

The readin notes that this disease affects not only the person who drinks but those who care about them from generation to generation. Today we can clearly see that that, in fact  we have been affected by the family disease, and that Al-Anon offers us a way to do our part in breaking this pattern. I can get off the merry-go-round to seek recovery in Al-Anon  and will then  find people who truly understand. If we have been affected by the drinking of another we need not doubt that we belong.aww

The quote is from in all our affairs.; " No matter what the difficulty, no matter how uniquely me feel, somewhere nearby our men and women with similar stories who have found  help, comfort and hope in alanon.
I know this is true as I have found such support.
Have a lovely day

Thank you Betty for the daily, your ESH and your service! I've been to a meeting and running some errands ... not my favorite thing to do on a Saturday but went way better than planned!!! Crowds were minimal - grateful for sure.

I know I came thinking I was well and fine and everything would be great if they would only stop drinking and behave. Well - it took a bit for my ego to deflate and my denial to lift....but when that happened, I could clearly see myself, my patterns and my controlling/demanding ways - contributing to the chaos - caused by my fear and the disease. Until I had an open mind, open ears and open heart - I wasn't certain I really accepted how far reaching the affects of the disease are.

Love the quote and so grateful I have found recovery. I am grateful each day that I am one step closer to being happy, joyous and free always...it happens so, so gradual but it does work if we work it ... and we are definitely worth it!

Make it a great day too Betty - I am cleaning some cabinets/drawers today and watching a bit of college football! (((Hugs)))
