The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I'm brand now to Al-Anon but not new to the effects that alcoholism has had on me as a person, not the effects it and drugs are having on my family and I now.
Welcome Gary You are not alone. Alanon is a recovery program for family members who have lived with the insanity of the disease. We believe that alcoholism is a chronic, progressive, fatal disease over which we are powerless. That because of living with this disease, we develop many negative coping tools that deprive us of living a healthy happy life.
Alanon helped me to break the isolation caused by living with the disease, gave me healthy tools to live by and a support group to share with and ability to re establish my self esteem. Face to face meetings are held in most communities and the hot line number is in the white pages.
There is hope so please search out the meetings and keep coming back
I have found a lot of inspiration and wisdom just from reading other's posts and replies on this site. I'm sure you can experience the same help that I have! Hang in there! It will get better with time I promise!
Hello Gary - I too welcome you to MIP. Glad that you found us and so glad that you joined right in with us.
Please keep coming back - there is hope and help in recovery!
