Isnt it great that we have this amazing way of thinking? Im very grateful today that I can see things differently, I can think differently, I can feel good about working towards making my life a good one. For me this good life comes from my own thought processes always. Its not about material possessions, careers etc that a capitalist society wants us to believe is a good life. Its about being thankful for what we have, its about looking at nature and being thankful for it, its about what goes on in our own heads, thats what makes a life good or bad. I feel like a very rich woman today and I just wanted to share this. I have everything I need to be truly happy, its just up to me to use the Alanon thinking to see it. Thanks El-Cee - so, so true....I am very grateful that I wake up today with a renewed attitude and way of thinking. I vividly recall the dread and anxiety that used to arrive before the program when I opened my eyes. Now, I am open to what the day will bring, and it is all because I was willing to have an open mind and humility. I do believe and understand that just for today, I am responsible for my own joy, happiness, serenity and life. Make it a great day and thank you for this awesome topic!

Your beautiful new perspective obviously comes from WORKING it and taking ACTIONS that produce that expansive perception (spiritual awareness.) yea for you!! yea for us!!!
They told me the spiritual life is not a theory, I had to LIVE it but it didnt happen for me by just showing up at meetings or by reading the words on the page (although it had to begin that way....) It only happened when I actually "practiced" something different. My sponsor and the steps were perfect guides.

El-cee, that is such a beautiful share! Al-anon is such a radical program -- the repudiation of focusing on material things is part of that for sure. It's such an amazing, transformational way of living life to its fullest. I love your post!
