Another death threat...hmmmm

I got a text msg from a client who's property I manage which asked me to check on his renter as there was a report of some "issues".  Well not really and after I went over to check on them I learned that the neighbor across the road was acting insane (drugs and alcohol?) and was shouting at them Friday night and acting insane. I asked a few more questions and they described behavior which was "upper related" (pcp, meth, etc).  She is a nurse and can relate to what I asked.  I am a former behavioral health therapist who worked drug and alcohol addiction sooooooo.  Anyhow they called the police for assistance and the police came a time after and then left. In their absence the guy across the road accosted them with more yelling, screaming and then threats of killing them including the behavior they mentioned before.  Okay I got it and we talked about them creating some security for themselves while I went to the police station for a report.  That is frustrating and for my wife frightening because I myself do not have a comfortable history with the police...we weathered the scariness and I came home with a phone number to call and my wife got her husband in good time without any "time spent in jail".    The police have no idea what to do unless some horrific event happens so I took the number and left. When I got home I authored another letter to the county council, police department and mayor and others asking and suggesting that we all get together and talk about the huge problem we have with drugs and alcohol and come up with a real workable plan that will brings solutions into play regarding alcohol and drug testing each and every time the suspicion arises, putting into place identification each and every time anyone attempts to purchase which will indicate a "Do not Sell" statement because of negative records and parity fines and levies against all involved meaning the drinker, producer, delivery and sales all pay the same fines and forfeit the incomes from the event if any.

I have been threated with death by drinkers and users and dealers when I loved the conflicts.  We all are crazy anyway and we don't know who is worse so we threaten openly.

I want to see how many of those in the government and public office have the courage to stand up and be counted.  Up to now no one of any significance.  We'll see this time...sucks that a family has to worry about getting attacked by someone mentally, emotionally, physical and spiritually blotto.

Wish us luck.   ((((hugs)))) smile

Good luck, Jerry. Hugs to you. Often the public officials are also alcoholics and don't want to impede their own access to the stuff. Or it may be the opposite and they have no problem with alcohol and don't know of the problems that can happen. Unless they have seen it, they don't believe it.
I am coming to the Big Island next week, so could you clean it out and make it safe by then?

Listen to your wife and take care of yourself.

I love being an American citizen and I truly believe we live in a great country but I must admit that the laws and protocol that has to be followed in the U.S before a harmful person can be arrested and put away where they can't hurt anyone are way to lenient and need some serious revamping. I work for law enforcement and witness first hand everyday how tied officers hands are when it comes to protecting innocent people from truly evil humans. It's very sad for everyone involved. And it's very scary also.

I hope some sort of action can be figured out to be put in place so that all of you can feel safe again. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

IAH Mahalo and I am safe right now as long as I stay within reach and contact with my HP and sponsor.  I pray that I don't get compulsive into doing something without either of them and the fellowship.   (((hugs))) wink

My prayers and positive thoughts are headed your way! I can so relate to the impulsive responses my brain throws my way! So grateful for HP and the program, for I can often pause and consider what, if anything I can do....

Hang in there Jerry! (((Hugs))) back @ ya!
