A little ESH (funny/crazy)

My crazy behavior seeps into many interactions, not just with alcoholics. (Because it's *my* insanity). It's so nice to be able to laugh about it sometimes. I am a host on a home-sharing web site. I was just changing the sheets in anticipation of a new guest and I remembered how my crazy controlling  insanity once made me think it was a great idea to go peep inside a restaurant where one of my guests was (elderly and frail -- and incompetent somehow in my mind) was eating pizza. I thought it was taking her too long to get back after she went down there for a slice. So I dragged a friend of mine to come with me and look inside to make sure she was okay. Hello?!?! That is so crazy! My friend was like "what's wrong with you?" but I really thought it was normal behavior. OMG. So glad I can see that as crazy now. (Of course, the woman was fine and was happily eating her pizza, so I ducked down outside so she wouldn't see me checking up on her). confuse

(E.I.M.)) Thanks for sharing your insight into our own destructive behavior. It is great when we can see it and laugh because we so understand . Thanks for the smile

(((E.I.M))) - I gotta chuckle out of your share as I can so relate.....my boys have called me OCD for years. I admit I am a neat freak and have some tendencies. It dawned on me now that they are grown that before they arrived, I was so freaking anal, I alphabetized my soups/veggies in the pantry AND used to dust my base boards every week.....I was always seeking for things to appear perfect in my life well before I was sucked into active alcoholism all around me.

Trust me when I say I've learned to enjoy life more, complete with dustier base boards. I can share many stories that I look back on now and just think WOW! You are correct - in my experience, my tendencies and obsessions went well beyond my qualifiers!

Thanks for the great share!
