The C2C reading for September 4 addresses the important slogan :"let go and let God and focus on yourself"
The reading points out that when we do so,we discover an increasing calmness in our mind. and many times we become uncomfortable because we know how to live in crisis but it often takes a adjustment to become comfortable with stillness.and serenity.
The price of serenity was the quieting of the constant mental chatter that had taken up so much time, we now have time on our hands and would needed to fill it Becoming more and more serene, as a result of working the program, we are often surprised to find that we may still grab for old fears to remain in crisis.
It is important to try to maintain our inner stillness, even when we feel scared or doubtful..
As we accomplish this difficult task, we can reassure ourselves that we are safe in the care of a Power Greater than ourselves,. Sanity and serenity and an increased faith are of the priceless gifts we can receive from these efforts, . I'm learning to trust peace and am not willing to sacrifice my serenity for any chaos or issue .
English prayer is the quote; "be still and know that I am with you"
Love this Reading I can remember the first time I actually felt serenity It was so fantastic and so unusual that I immediately shut it down and went back to my fear and anxiety. Today I treasure my inner peace and will not surrender it lightly.
I relate and agree with how it came on you Hot Rod...that is almost exactly how it came about for me too...the serenity was un-nerving for a while until I got use to it and it became an expectation. The voice of the English prayer is a daily thing for me now as it is a response to my 3rd step prayer. ((((hugs))))
Thank you Betty and Jerry for your ESH - Betty...thank you also for your service and today's daily. I love the English prayer and it's also a daily for me.
I do remember when I first felt the grace of serenity spread over me and my inner soul. It was extremely unnerving as nothing truly had changed outside me - others were still fighting everything and everyone, but I was not. I was literally focusing on me, my thoughts, my actions, my feelings, my reactions and my wants. It felt very still, very quiet and very strange as it was new.
I consider the ability to be still, let go of all that's going on and letting God lead me a miracle. It is a challenge for me to quiet my mind, but it's no longer impossible. In the beginning, I had to work really hard to boot out my rapid-fire thoughts. Now, I just have to believe in the miracle of recovery and focus on the healing hands of my HP and I can find serenity.
Great reading for today - I'm off to a meeting in a short while, then some planting. Watching baseball for a bit this afternoon and then a wedding! I am grateful for another beautiful day in my life and for all of you. Make it a great day!!

The picture that always comes to my mind that goes with this is the birds flying around and perching in the branches and singing their beautiful song and nature being so beautiful...... and knowing that in the middle of all that, I am important enough that there is a HP that is looking after all of us, and me especially. "I am with YOU".
