Grateful today

I am not sure what has happened but the alcoholic bf remains sober-2 weeks since his last bender and went back to work. He has money too and has not run to the liquor store. Its a blessing for today! The home is so much saner now and calmer. How long will this last, I am not certain. But for today, its calm. For that I am so grateful. Maybe he is seeing the changes in me and see that I want a better life. Maybe he is afraid I will move out and on. Not sure what it is, but today there is sobriety in the house. My prayer is it will continue. I can only take things one day at a time and continue to focus on me!

Just wanted to share this.

Great to hear, joker! I'm so glad you are getting some time with the sober version of your partner. I will send positive thoughts that this continues. I noticed you wrote that the changes may be bc of something in you or that you've done... While we don't know the reason, I challenge you to consider it has nothing to do with you... Just as his drinking and bad behavior has nothing to do with you. Just some food for thought. Either way, the changes in you are a big deal. Thanks for sharing the good news.

Joker - great job taking it all one day at a time. Nobody knows for certain what tomorrow brings - so love you and your day - it's perhaps all we have!

I used to eye-roll at the statement, "Live your day as if it is your last...." I get it now - only took me decades to embrace it...

(((Hugs)))
