progress

I am so grateful today. The ABF remains sober and its almost 2 weeks. He may have hit his bottom. I had left while he was in full fledged active drinking and just let him be. He was a complete mess after 5 days of heavy, heavy drinking. We took the empty's back for refund and there was 460 empty's. That was in a 2 week span, so the drinking was bad. He was horrified that he drank that much. He now swears he is done drinking and needs to get his act together. He starts work today after being off for close to 6 months. I of course do not believe a word he says. I keep looking for the action to prove he is sober and will remain that way. I am taking things a day at a time but still have my plan B in place. Things at home are now much saner and orderly. Its a blessing. I have been down this route a few times already, sober for 2 to 3 months and then the drinking starts all over again, and gets worse and worse till he is so sick he is nearly dying, loss of job, back to EI, and the cycle continues. I know the cycle well now. I am still working really hard to keep the focus on me and what I am doing. I am trying to keep the focus off him and just say your life, your life, not mine. I am attending face to face al-anon meetings and AA meetings and its all helping. I continue to journal my feeling and thanking god for another sober day in the house. I do not know how long this bubble of sobriety will last this time, but for today, its calm in the house and he is sober and headed to work. I just keep saying hands off, hands off, focus on you and you only...what do you want, need today? I am doing all I can to look after me today and I also read on line daily here and this all helps me to look at me and what I am doing. I just wanted to share my progress today!
