Today's reading is about prayer - it is not for our HP, but rather for us. There are no perfect words and there are no perfect times/ways to pray. Instead, we just need to try as our HP will know what is in our hearts.
Today's Reminder is powerful enough to share ---- Prayer is my most personal form of communication. I can pray by consciously thinking, writing, creating, feeling and hoping. Whether I reach deep inside myself or turn outward twoard the majesty of mature, it is the spirit of prayer rather than its form that matters. Today, I will let my heart speak.
And Today's Quote is from As We Understood.... ---- "God meets me where I am. . . . If I am just willing, He will come to me."
I love today's reading as it discusses a little boy who is in nature repeating his ABCs over and over and over again. The writer suggests that she/he came upon this child, and asked why he was repeating his ABCs, and the little boy suggested he was praying. Since he didn't know the words to the prayer, he was giving the letters to God to decipher as the child explained that God knew what was in his heart.
What a great read for us! For me, always wanting perfection based on my perceptions, I struggled to pray. I knew several from my youth, but often they did not feel right or sound right for a daily discussion with God. Today, I speak freely from my heart, asking for his will in my life and the lives of those I know and care for. I can remember being a small child in church and singing the ABCs when they sang hymns, as I did not know the words but wanted to be a part of instead of a part from. That small child then did not have the fear, shame, etc. as this was BD (Before Disease). What a pleasant memory that I've not thought about for a long while.
Make it a great Thursday all - off to golf today with my sponsor!! (((Hugs))) to one and all!

Hello IAH Thanks for posting your thoughts on today's important reading I know that i loved the thought that suggested that the" meaning behind our prayers comes from our hearts" and not from my words.
I can remember a very difficult time in my life where I simply could not pray. In the morning I would simply say , God, you know what I'm dealing with. Please help. That was it was enough for me because I trusted that God could see my heart. That time has passed and I was given all the serenity, courage and wisdom that I needed in order to walk through a difficult road. Today I can pray with increasing gratitude knowing that HP is walking before me.
I can say readily and with full honesty - I suck at golf. Trying something new over the age of 50 is a challenge and a part of me wants to quit the game!!! If it weren't quality time with my sponsor, I would probably sell my clubs and give up.....
So glad to be able to dump that off my chest! I am improving but I am so inconsistent....and don't know why!!! (((Prayers for improved golf game...ha.ha.ha.ha.ha.)
