What do I do? I have been struggling w getting up at 3 or 4 in the morning & no one is up! I have insomnia & have had it for a very long time. I take meds but they don't always work. I even go to bed early. So the reason might be obsessive thinking or something else. I know you aren't professional people. I called the crisis line because I have to wait until Monday for any real help. On top if that we are having a major money issue & my AH lost it over it & I cried & cried. Been crying off & on for awhile. Because of the time you are all I have. One minute at a time. I am trying to turn this over.
Hi Katgleen I am sorry. Having Insomnia is the pits. Try reciting the serenity prayer or listing your many assets as you rest and remind yourself that HP has not brought you both this far to abandon you. . That works for me.

and over and then watched the red balloon float
Away.
Went back to bed & rested for about an hour. A little sleep. I feel better now. It is nearly 7 am PST. Off w the coffee I go. Won't wake up my AH. Just 24hrs to go. One day at at a time.
I'm sorry for the troubles you're currently having. I noticed you said that you even go to bed early. I find when I go to be early, many times, I have less chance of sleeping through the entire night. If I'm distracted by a problem, getting something done around the house in the evening can help to put my mental concentration somewhere else. The physical movement helps to quiet the distress I might be feeling. I usually have a heart to heart talk with my hp at the same time.

(((Kathleen))) - so sorry for the blow-up, insomnia and lack of sleep....I'm sending you positive prayers and huge (((hugs))). I struggle with getting good sleep and some insomnia. I will not take any prescriptions and average 4-6 hours of sleep per night. It's not enough some days and I give myself permission to take naps if needed and/or just have quiet times during the day.
For me, it does not help to try and go to bed earlier. I have about a 2 hour window to fall asleep no matter when I lay down. If I go to bed earlier, I wake up earlier...I will say that reading helps distract my brain and often helps me fall asleep. Non-fiction works way better than fiction...

Thanks all. Yesterday I did a lot of reading & cleaning & sorting stuff to make time go faster. It isn't always about little sleep. It is about all the hours in the day that I have to deal w & finding things to do. When I am really strung out I can't read much. Right now I am watching music videos. I really like 80s videos. They come on TV sometimes early. Texted & talked to a friend finally. I do feel better. In my case some rest is better than none. Now I think I can turn it over & let go & let God.

Love 80s music too Hoot. Have you checked out Pandora on the computer? I have speakers with my desktop and u can chose whatever music. I have 80,s music going when i do housework. its very uplifting happy music !! So tubular lol
Yarn crazy: I use 80s music to exercise. Love it! Way cool. And no I haven't checked out Pandora. There used to be s Pandora channel on our satellite TV. Is that the same thing?
I've got Pandora on my phone....I listen to Christian Rock to walk and meditate to.....I love 80's music as well but switched to Christian to try and get more spiritual! Still love my Rock-n-Roll though - will always!!!
