The C2C reading for June 25 speaks about Step Six. This is the Step that asks that we become entirely ready for God to remove our defects. The reading suggests these defects are like roadblocks that keep us stranded and unable to freely travel life's many roads.
The reading points out, that one of these defects is:"self-pity" which , is a complete waste of time. We can look back and see how many hours we spent thinking there was nothing in life to make a dream come true. In a way this is right because by focusing on self-pity, I was spending my time worrying instead of taking positive action.
In. Step six I have found that HP allows me to see my defects in action so that I can become entirely ready to let them go.
The quote is from C.R. Findley : "God seldom delivers virtues all wrapped and ready for use. Rather, he puts us in situations where by his help we can develop those virtues."
Step 6 is a powerful tool that helped me to see how I was hurting myself and so become willing to have HP lift these defects.
Thank you Betty for the daily, your ESH and your service. I am so grateful that step 6 focuses on us becoming 'entirely ready' for God to take action and doesn't suggest WE have to fix ourselves. I had to study this step for a while because I would become frustrated when I slipped and reacted with a pre-program response to the disease.....my sponsor lovingly kept reminding me that we're only working to be ready to have God do his thing - and through each day in our journey, we will learn by doing or not doing.
It is through all of my experiences that I am becoming a better version of me! If it were easy, the return would not be as profound as it's been - and I am grateful for all that has been shown to me in my recovery journey!
I am taking a road trip in a while up to see my high school gal pals. One is a cancer survivor and she had some concerning results this week and is in need of our support. So, 5 of 7 of us are able to spend the day together and just be 'there' for her. We will laugh, play, share, cry, vent and who knows what else.....so grateful I am able to be of service to others in their time of need.
Went to my meeting this morning and am almost ready to go - just need to pack my things in the car. I may not be back today so have a blessed day Betty and MIP family!
(((Hugs))) to all!
