Courage to Change reading 6-4-2016

The C2C reading for June 4 speaks about the importance of the :" Second Step". The reading points out that this Step is about hope because  with this Step, we come to believe that a Power Greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

We are asked to open our minds to the possibilities that help is available. There is a source of assistance that can do for us what we are unable to do for ourselves.  The reading points out  we don't have to believe it will happen only that it could. It is this small hope in the armor of despair that is enough to point us in the direction of healing. Once we acknowledge that there is a possibility of change then it is important to attempt to explore a relationship with HP

The quote is from As We Understood; "finding inner strength is looking beyond the visible and focusing life's search on the unseen

I have heard people in the rooms say that they've experienced the Second Step in a very interesting way.

They came(to meetings), they came to(became conscious). They came to believe(after becoming conscious, it  is a small step to discovering a wonderful belief in a power greater than ourselves. I know this worked for me and I am so truly grateful.

Thank you Betty for the daily, your ESH and your service. Today's reading carried over into my F2F meeting today. We had a member with 26 years and a member with almost 1 and another with 2 weeks. Love being in the middle of progress in recovery. We discussed gratitude for the program, for a road-map (steps) and for a HP to lead us.

I know for me I was so blocked when I arrived, I had tons of despair and no hope. I felt defeated, beat down and perpetual sadness. I was very grateful to find fellowship, understanding and support which helped me realize there was hope AND I could recover with help from a HP.

Have a great day all - off to a fellowship picnic - back later!
