Going to be lounging in Central Valley CA. for 3 weeks soon so I will be off of the board unless I bum my wife's IPad or something. Understand I am not a Continental U.S. person and even while I have family relatives living there I just am not into it. I will not complain. I am an island boy surrounded by the gift of the Pacific and the/my Hawaiian Culture and I have grown up with lots of historical justifications for being "Home". On the other hand I started living a recovery program from 1979 in the central valley have lots of friends in recovery there. I want to hear their voices and feel their hugs and laugh with them...we have survived the fatal disease of alcoholism side by side and that is a blessing from my Hawaiian Higher Power; Akua O` kalani, God above in heaven which will be with me up there. My wife will be staying for 3 months and I for 3 weeks and we will be staying with her family some of whom are in recovery...put together those of us in recovery have in excess of 100 years...Thank you HP.
I'm not gone yet so peace and serenity be with us all. ((((hugs))))
Jerry - I am hopeful that your trip is a blessing and tons of fun. I am (selfishly) hopeful that you do borrow means to stop in and see us. I was truly concerned about a 2 week vacation dragging, but it did go by so quickly....HP will carry you through your travels and give you the courage to enjoy yourself in peace!
Keep us posted on when you're going - I'll send you travel thought and prayers!!

Hi Jerry, I too don't want to have you away from us. Your posts are so honest and helpful!
I ha e been visiting your world and should be heeded home late tonight. Because. Live on the East cost, I will gain three hours every time I chance planes (except the short trip at the end). Then I have to drive an hour or so to get home. If at all possible, I will pick up my fur babies tomorrow and I am so excited to see my fur babies. RAH has to skip the last flight for a conference and I don't even know where he parked the car, so it is going to be interesting for sure! Assuming I can make it physically, I'll be at my meeting Tomorrow evening (I sure hop so)!
I have truly enjoyed your Island world and am amazed by the kindness of the people here! It is a lot like the South (USA) with the friendliness of the people, but I have found that many people in the other parts of the US are less open with kindness. This is simply my personal experience and may be completely off base, though...lol
I do hope you are able to enjoy your mainland vacation. If you find you are missing the heat and humidity, just hop on a plane to GA, FL, or SC and I'm certain we can accommodate. Lol
Seriously, there is beauty all around if you take the time to see it. It is not the same as the breathtaking blue of your water here or the fresh fruit provided by God, but there are many lovely places and many wonders to behold no matter where you may travel. (Just thinking out loud here and NOT being condescending) :)
Anyway, I will miss your Island paradise and the singing of the birds as I awake in the mornings. Perhaps if I listen closer, I will hear the singing of the birds at home instead of only seeing the things that need to be done.
Hello Jerry! If you drove due west you would end up in my neck of the woods! I hope it cools off for your visit. Bring some trade winds with you!!
Aloha!
