Hi friends. Just need to share what happened tonight. I made the foolish mistake of telling my drunk husband that he behaved badly when he drank. He had drunk half a liter of whisky in just a few hours and was rude. I was accused of throwing attitude and he called me a f***king b*tch in front of our 6 year old daughter. She and I bother shut down and stayed quiet while he slammed doors and objects around and then he left for a movie. I so wanted to call the cops on him. But instead came here. I don't want our daughter thinking that's how men talk to women. Thank you for listening. X
((Jillid)) Accepting that I was powerless over this disease and that any attempt to control it usually backfires, helped me to not react to the insanity and instead detach and take care of myself by reciting the serenity prayer continually in my mind.
Positive thoughts and prayers on the way.
Although he was a man speaking to a woman basically in reality he is an alcoholic speaking to a woman and daughter. Do not do the same thing you did the last time...do something different to change it. Keep coming back ((((hugs))))
Alanon program taught me how to not be treated this way through boundaries and three A's, awareness acceptance action. You didn't have to sit there while he acted the typical tantrum scenario. You could calmly leave the room or house with your daughter, take her for ice cream maybe. Make it clear to him you won't tolerate bad behaviour and then make the decision to not. So every single time he starts this nonsense get up and leave the room. He will get it pretty quickly.
