The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The C2C reading for April 24 speaks about the slogan,"Easy Does it". It points out that many times we try to force solutions and end up being frustrated and disheartened in the process. If we use the slogan" Easy does it" ,it is interesting to observe the results. Life is more serene because I'm not pushing to make myself into someone else or go somewhere where I don't wish to go .
The quote is from Youth and the Alcoholic Parent; "easy does it. Think about it when you're in a hurry to do something everything seems to go wrong--you will be surprised how much this one little idea to do for you."
I like to also include the statement":Easy does it but remember to DO It"
Thanks Betty and I hope you have a great Sunday too! I am headed out to my F2F Sunday meeting and we have a wonderful sunshine filled day! Until later - we are to get rain tonight.....
Easy Does It for me helps me also quiet my mind when my thoughts are racing. So often, that which is debating in my own brain is not even real and certainly rarely about this moment, of this day. Easy Does It helps me also practice patience when I think I need to hurry or the answers need to come faster to an issue or problem in my life.
I am grateful for this slogan and so many others. They do help me realize that if HP intended us to be in control and running to everything - we would be. We are not - I am an imperfect human in an imperfect world just doing my own next right thing!
(((Hugs))) - thanks as always for your service!

I am going to be honest and say, this is the only slogan I've never quite understood. My tendency is to do things 'too easy" (as in, just not do them if they're too hard, or at odds with other people, and then try to compensate some other way if that makes any sense). So inaction or "easy" action seems like not a good option for me.
Taking the right action is.
I like that you've included "remember to DO it" at the end of this because that gives me a different way to view this slogan, and it makes a bit more sense with that caveat.
For me, I guess it would mean "DO take the action, just don't go at it like a bull at a gate". Lol.
