What it all boils down to is:

When it comes to your qualifier

you can't tell them what to do or try to control them, or situations

you can't have expectations of them, that will only hurt you

Believe me they really are not listening to you

taking their inventory is a waste of your precious time

what you can do is immerse yourself into Alanon and change YOURSELF and then you will see your world change.

I agree LIn-- You have just outlined alanon's basic philosophy --
How to accomplish this daunting task is also quite simple, The Steps, a Sponsor, Meetings and the Slogans are the key to help us move from simply surviving to thriving.

Amen! And, that doesn't just go for our alcoholic qualifiers, that goes for just about anybody in our personal lives where we feel in necessary to take someone's inventory or to try to control a situation that isn't ours to control in the first place. Thank you for your share!

Great share and spot on - as andromeda says above me - AMEN.....I too love to use the principles in 'all my affairs'. It tends to allow me to act/react more as an adult vs. the child within me!!!

Thank you for a great thread!!
