Intervention (of sorts) scheduled for Wednesday

Well, I think the plan is that One of the 3 guys that mt AH meets with on Wednesday's for bible Study, is going to talk with him. The other guy is going to stay home. This guy is about 15 years older then him (in his 70's) and my AH thinks a lot of him. So Hopefully, my AH will be open minded enough to listen and take heart.  That will be the best case senerio. Worst case? that he will get p***ed off and quit going to our church and want me to quit too. Sober, my AH has a great head on his shoulders, so I am hoping for the best, and preparing for the worsed. Prayers would be welcome, that he would listen, and not cancel going (because sometimes he does because he's "tired")

I managed to keep him from going to church last night. Of course, having the whole day, he drank all day to a staggering mess. Got dressed and then passed out on the couch sitting up 1/2 hour before I had to be there (to work in the childrens room) Took 3 times of yelling his name to rouse him, and ask him if he was going. He said yes, so I went up to put my coat on, and when he didn't follow, I poked my head back into his man cave and he was passed out again! so I said loudly "Do you want to just meet me there?" And he woke with a start and said "No! Why are you being mean to me?"!!!! So he staggers up the stairs, and walks over to the refrigerator and opens it. (Mind you I am standing there with my coat on, needing to have left 5 min earlier!!!) he said "I'm just "tired". I said "Well, you don't have to go"  (a co-dependant munipulative menouver on my part I know, cause I know it puts the bug in his ear to get out of going) And of course, he said he would stay home. Sad that he was too drunk to make it to church to hear God's message, but relieved not to haul a drunk husband to church yet another night. Sorry, just had to vent all that.

Positive thoughts on the way. I do hope you will find face to face meetings so that you can both engage in recovery at the same time
