Looking for inspiration

Hey guys, I'm putting out the feelers. I am chairing my first ever Al-anon meeting tomorrow (March 7) The topic is Loneliness & I am looking for a couple of inspirational readings from "Courage to change".  Can anybody out there suggest some? Thanks in advance

Petert Welcome, I have always found that sharing my own ESH on the topic was the best way to encourage others to do the same Loneliness is a topic I am sure many can identify with. I know that I felt more lonely in my marriage (when hubby was there)than I did after it ended.

Page 132 in C2C has one topic on loneliness
Good luck

Courage to Change page 132 (May 11) has some good points. It explains how we may think that only another person can fulfill all our needs, and that it is worth cherishing a relationship with ourselves.

Best wishes for your meeting.

Enjoy your chairing experience petert7666! If I am in need of some words for a meeting, most of our literature has an index in the back where there are tons of topics with references to pages in the text.

Let us know how it goes!!

As an recovered enabler, I would take loneliness over the wrath of the disease/addiction in my life anyday.

Recovery usually takes years, and loneliness is just a step in the path to recovery.
