No defense over the first drink

I am a two time offender.  I qualify for both rooms of AA and Alanon.  I met and married a man in the rooms 2 1/2 years ago.  He had gotten 8 years in December.  Never saw his relapse coming(Or maybe I did and didn;t want to acknowledge it).  A little over 48 hours ago my life has been turned upside down.  He had relapsed and by devine intervention his relapsed was made known.

Welcome OOPs I can identify with loving someone who relapses after a long time in sobriety. It is painful!!! I will hold you and your partner in my prayers. Keep coming back

Welcome OOPs to MIP - glad you found us and glad that you shared. Relapses are indeed very painful. I am so sorry that this is where you are. I am a double winner (AA & Al-Anon) and met/married a man in recovery. I have stayed sober and he did not. It was devastating and it took a ton of redirecting to a HP to keep me focused on me.

Prayers for you both and remember that it's a new day to be you!

Keep coming back!
