Courage to Change 1-31-2016

The C2C reading for January 31 speaks about having our "shortcomings" being removed. as we move to  Step 6 and Step 7.   It points out that we can do all we can to prepare for them to be removed by developing a nonjudgmental awareness of ourselves, accept what we discover and become willing to change but  that we "lack the power" to heal ourselves as  only HP can do this.
The quote is from the dilemma of the alcoholic marriage; "I accept the fact that I need help in being restored to sanity, and that I cannot achieve this without help."

I do understand this, and accept the wisdom of this principle I often  tried unsuccessfully to change many of my defects, alone but they always returned .  I find that when I work the program accept that I want to be free of a particular defect ,that slowly I find myself responding differently in a more compassionate, generous manner  The negative defects were replaced with a kinder more loving attitude and responses.
  Thank you HP

Thank you Betty for the daily and the ESH! I am feeling my shortcomings right about now - too many emotions, too much family and not enough energy as I have a cold....

I have no doubt that I can be restored, and that it's only so if I am in the present, and relying on my HP. I still have today, tomorrow and Tuesday with family so am living in the moment.

I have truly enjoyed seeing folks that we don't get to see very often. I am grateful for each and everyone of them. I do believe we are all getting through this by the grace of God. I am so grateful for the gifts of this program.....I thank you for your service too Betty.

Have a great day!
