C2C Reading 1-28-2016

The C2C reading for January 28 points out that many of us come to Al-Anon for a quick fix for our pain. and that many of us stayed because of the consistency, security and friendship that we find each day and because of our commitment to our growth.

The reading  suggests that it Is important to see recovery  as a healthy way of life, that I can gladly share with others.  Today I can actively pursue a better life because I'm working on myself.

"The quote is from Just for Today pamphlet ; "just for today I will have a program, I may not follow it exactly that I will have one."

I no longer live with the active disease of alcoholism however,  I still  attend alanon meetings regularly and work Steps 1.2, 3 ,10,11 and 12 on a daily basis.  I believe that these are healthy tools that make my life manageable end serene  and are well worth the effort.  It is like going to the gym daily .   Have a great day

Betty, thank you for today's reading and can completely agree, that Al-Anon is not a quick fix, the program
has to be worked on a daily basis and coupled with a group connection, is a perfect way to make permanent
changes in the way my perception shapes my world.

What a great reading and I agree that it's not a fix but a way of life. When I drift, I can tell as the 'isms' for me can return - and quite quickly.

Practicing these principles as best I can in all my affairs makes it much easier for me to be part of the solution vs. part of the problem/drama. I am grateful beyond words for how the steps and tools lead me to be a more thoughtful, logical person, especially in times of uncertainty/fear.

Thank you Betty for the daily and your ESH! I too visit 1,2,3 in the AM (and during the day as necessary) and visit 10,11 at night-time. I hope that 12 is a by-product of the person I am/am becoming and happens during the day as best I can!
