Hi I printed the wrong reading from the C2C for today as I loked yesterday's page by mistake I am sorry.
The C2C reading for January 13 talk about spiritual freedom, and Al-Anon. It suggests that we are encouraged to find our own understanding of God and to allow others the same freedom because until we can think of God in terms of it meaningful to me that not able to truly turn our lives over. Our concept of God evolves and changes and grows as we continue to change and grow. Eventually discover there's a sense of unity purpose to our journey through life. I am the only ones in the NE to have God of my understanding in order to live fully. Grounded in faith. I can hold tight to my course to meet the future. Eventually we will discover deep within us is a higher power, willing to guide us along. We are not alone on a journey.

Betty - if it makes you feel better, I read the wrong one today and responded here - doi!!! I did not realize it was the 13th until I went to my noon meeting and they began to read a different daily...
I love this one as it gives us the ability to determine our own HP in the program. We are not asked to believe in one God or one Allah or one Buddha or ... We are instead invited to seek a spiritual path choosing and defining our own HP as it makes sense to our recovery. I started with the group and the wisdom of those who were here before me. My concept changed and grew and I today feel I am on a spiritual journey and call my HP God as it's simpler based on my teachings of youth.
We had a great sunshiney day here and it was an exact 'gift of a summer-time day in the middle of winter'. Reminded me of the quote from the reading.

I love that it is the god of understanding as it is very much a personal journey and changes over time. I never thought that fellow Al anon group members could be seen as my HP until a chaplain explained it in those terms and the lightbulb went off in my head! That was very helpful to me and I find my belief and connection growing each day.
