Courage to Change 12-11

The C2C reading for December 11 speaks about being sure that all our problems would be solved if we had enough money.12 The reading goes on to say that the truth is that money would not take away the effects that alcoholism has had on my family, nor would it make a drinker sober.

It  is important to look at what we really want. The reading suggests that nothing will never eliminate all problems from our lives, there are difficulties that cannot be solved and that is why we need to seek to accept the things we cannot change.

Today, serenity, is just a meeting away and it is free of charge.  In attending  the meeting I can listen and learn and then  apply the principles that we learn to our life. Money cannot by serenity but alanon tools and a HP can help to make that happen

The quote is from :"As we Understood:" I now try to take my problems to my higher power, and leave  the solutions and the timetable up to him."

I have found that with my daily gratitude and asset lists I am a aware of the true treasures  that my life contains and  am  so grateful.  I know that "Money " cannot buy , the courage, serenity and wisdom that I have received from working  this program.

Thanks Betty for the daily! I was raised with a definition of success having everything to do with money, position, degree, possessions, etc. Never was happiness a part of that equation, which when I look back seems so strange to me. I suppose my parents just assumed that when 'we' had these, we would also have happiness - they seemed happy enough....right?

So, it's taken having and not having $$ and other material items to realize the value they hold in my life today is zip. Sure, I need enough to pay my bills and eat, but it is not directly or indirectly tied to my happiness, joy or serenity.

I can now say that my best items are not possessions of material, but rather within. I would not trade my joy, serenity, peace and program experience for mega money - as Money doesn't buy happiness and You can't take it with ya when ya go!

Appreciate the ESH & the service - Happy Friday!

My bio family is very money oriented..if you don't have the right ( fill in the blank) then you're not worthy.  I spent a good portion of my life like a hamster on a treadmill..never reaching the "level". I was 21 with ulcers from stress smh..quit my job and moved across the country..

I remember my sponsor telling me that I was ok, I was good enough..once I heard those words it was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.

This program and a run are two constants in my life..I wish I had more money..but I'll take the serenity
