After I told my boys what my online meetings were all about, Alanon.  They said Mom,  "  You sure have changed a lot.Your a better Mom."  I know we are going to be OK! At least I hope things don't change in their attititudes when it is only a female in the house.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Josey

As the son of a "grateful Al-anon", they will remember that as a sign of strength in you for the rest of their lives.  I would have not known of this program without her.  Not one single sole I talked to about my relationship at home pointed me here.

When I was in my darkest spot emotionally, I remembered my Mom getting better when she joined Al-Anon!

Take care of you!

Josey, all the more they will see all your beautiful strengths as you start your new life.

I am a single mom, my son was having a hard time since his father's choice to drop out of his life. The best thing I know I did was not to feed into the disease during this change -I know my son is grateful I changed and someday he may thank me for dragging him to Alateen as well.
Wishes~

Josey, your sons sound like angels.... I know you feel richly blessed to have them.

And they are so very lucky to have you for their mom!

Hi Josie

I can certainly relate that things got better and so did I when I joined al-anon.  My kids would probably agree.  I don't let people walk on me anymore, but I am a lot more fun to be around as well.  Its an amazing program.  MY home group had its 8th anniversary last night and we were all reminiscing about the old days and how we were when 'we' came in.  The speakers were awesome as they were women I knew ten years ago when I came in the program.  One is a double winner in AA and Al-Anon, and she is one of the most spiritual people I know today.  It works when you work it !  Keep coming back, your boys see how much you love them and the good changes in you !

Love,

Aly

Josey,

Sounds like you are doing a great job, and what a positive source of validation to notice your progress but your children.  Reading your posts and the replies gives me encouragement that I can change and get healthy so that I can raise my boys to be strong and healthy as well.  If they don't see us putting boudaries in place with ourselves and our "a's" then they will not have a road map to learn to do this for themselves.  Keep up the great work.

Hugs,

Twinmom~
