The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The C2C reading for 11 22 reminds us that alanon is a spiritual program. That one of the results of living with the disease of alcoholism is that we tend to lose our" Spirit" because life become a survival game filled with fear and simply accomplishing the "Daily grind." . Without the support of program and a Spiritual approach nothing seems to help. The reading suggests that being stuck in the endless unworkable cycle may have been because we were trying to do it all by ourselves.
In alanon we discover an essential part within ourselves, that can guide us through our fears. This connection to our spirituality, we choose to call our HP
By connecting to this important part within we have found an essential part of ourselves which has been neglected for so long
The quote is :"I am a spiritual creature ,capable of faith, hope and an appreciation of beauty . I have an unlimited source of strength and comfort at my disposal. Today I will take the time to cultivate this resource.
.
I do this through prayer and meditation. When I stopped abandoning myself by ignoring my inner spiritual being I began to feel whole for her first time in my life. This is indeed a powerful gift.
Thank you for today's daily Betty as well as for your service.
One of the many reasons I minimize my discussion about Al-Anon and the gifts of this program is there are so many who don't understand this. The reading summarizes me before the program - I felt alone, I acted as if I were alone and I spun myself into a whole that nobody but me could see.....it was a very lonely experience which only through Al-Anon did I crawl out.
Nothing in my life is 'perfect' and that's OK. Nothing in my life goes as I wish, and that's OK. Once I believed and embraced a power greater than myself, things changed for the good.
My words, no matter how well written or spoken are able to adequately describe how blessed I am that I came to Al-Anon and now believe in my spiritual experience. I am grateful that we have the human power of choice and that I chose to no longer be self-reliant. I am grateful this program has shown me the way to a spiritual life which leads me where I need to go.
Have a great Sunday to one and all!

IAMHERE Thanks for your honesty and clarity. I do identify with being invisible even to myself and going it alone.

Great ccwi ,
I found the simple practice , of taking the time to start my day with program principles really helped boast my dedication to this progam and the simple tools. i am glad they are inspiring you as well.
Thank you for sharing, Betty, great page and great reminders...Meditation has played a very large role in my AlAnon recovery and is truly an indispensable part of my serenity. It was by meditating that I was able to identify a hp of my understanding, and during my daily meditation that I am able to focus on and practice the wisdom of the daily readings.
There is such an amazing difference between my pre-AlAnon efforts based only on cognitive awareness and logical application, and the much deeper changes emerging as a result of actively working a spiritual program as AlAnon encourages. It feels like the difference between merely recognizing a particular dialect or language, and being able to speak it fluently, have it flow from within.
I am so grateful to AlAnon for the wisdom and tools to use on my daily challenges, and for guiding me to a healthy, spiritual path...
