The server at www.12stepforums.net can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventingGoogle Chrome from accessing the network.
but I am clicking on the chat room entrance at the top of this screen. and obviously i have connection or I would not be here I have restored this computer, tried a different browser, tried a different computer and get the same results

I dunno Debb - based on the message you are getting it seems to be something between your system, the IP (Internet Provider) and the chat room server.
Do you have another browser? Like Firefox vs. Internet Explorer vs. Chrome?

If you have another browser installed, try a different browser.
Let me know - if you're exploring your settings, look @ your Firewall/Security settings and make sure you 'allow' the server for the chat room....

Not sure why, but I am able to get on the board but not in the chat room. Have I been band? I even restored my computer and still cannot get in
