The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The C2C reading for November 8 speaks about the little pamphlet entitled:"Just for Today. It selects the simple thoughts :" just for today I will do somebody a good turn and not be found doing it. If anyone it. It will not count.
This is a great exercise to help us to break the habit of being kind and generous in order to get something back. Only when I perform a loving act with no expectations will I reap the true reward giving..
Giving doesn't have to take away from me or anyone else-if there are no strings attached. everyone stands to benefit. Every good and loving gestures The reading suggests that these anonymous positiveactions are the building blocks of a flourishing spiritual well-being. Self-esteem grows because we feel good about our actions and we are engaged in worthwhile pursuits.
Today's reminder suggests that today we should attempt to put unconditional love into action. When we give freely without expecting anything in return, we will find we always receive more than we give
The quote is from Mechtild Magdeburg ; "I was created in love. For that reason. Nothing can express my beauty.nor liberate me except love alone ."
Powerful statement and worthwhile goal for today
I love the "Just for Today Bookmark" for me it is the most important piece of alanon literature that I own. I think this reading reinforces the ODAT reading for today which cautions us about taking actions to "show off" instead of having generous motives,

Thank you Betty for the daily and the service. Just for Today - that concept and/or thought has saved my bacon every day for 28+ years. I can share that anytime my mind, thoughts, emotions, projections, etc. are leaning toward the past or the future, JFT brings me back to the right now, right here.
I love RAOK - Random Acts of Kindness. Doing something for another in an anonymous fashion brings pure joy and peace to my heart. It can be small (Picking up sticks from the neighbor's yard who is sick) to bigger - donating clothes to an abuse shelter during the night when staff is limited.
I have slowly learned that the only one who matters when I am of service is my HP (and me of course). The best way ever to change my mind space is to do for another person just because and for no other reason.
Great, great daily and reading.....
