Thought for Today ~ Peace With Myself ~ 11/04/15

It is far easier to be honest with other people than with myself. All of us are hampered

to some degree by our need to justify our actions and words. Admitting my faults, to

myself, to God and another human being, as suggested by the Fifth of the Twelve Steps,

will give me a glimpse of the wonderful person I COULD be. "I will pray for self-fulfillment,

and through conscious effort make some headway toward being at peace with myself,

which is my ultimate goal, embracing all others."

I am with you both on this one.....my only path to peace within comes from working the Steps of this program with as much honesty as I can. Recovery is a journey - my experience is that small things brought momentary peace in the beginning. As I felt better, I engaged more and saw more results (peace). The journey is not easy or short, but it's worthwhile.

I love that I will never be finished; I am a work in progress and can accept that today. All my "If onlys...." and "What ifs...." have been minimized greatly and I have inner peace far more than not!

Great post and great shares. Thanks and (((hugs)))!
