Thought for Today ~ Let Go ~ 11/01/15

To "Let go and let God" is the way we find peace of mind.

Our stubborn self-will can only hinder the working out of our

problems. If I really want to be free to build a satisfying life

for my self, I must first release the alcoholic from my efforts

to direct and control. "May I always keep in the forefront of

my mind that I am not all-wise and all-powerful. Only God is

that-and it is on Him that I must rely."

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Lovely way to start the day - thanks Debb for the post and the ESH! You too Miss Betty!

Reminding myself each morning upon awakening that I am truly powerless and have no control over what others do certainly sets the stage for me to make my days better. I am grateful that Al-Anon has taught me that the only thing I have power over is myself. I am powerless over people, places and things and exerting my will and desire to fix, control, etc. is such a waste of my time and energy.

"Let Go and Let God" is such a simple reminder and gives me the ability at any point of any day to surrender and have faith. I am glad I no longer feel responsible for the actions of my qualifiers, what a relief!

Make it a great day too folks!! (((Hugs)))
