Off-Topic - Anybody But Me Watching the World Series?

I am a Royals fan and wondered if anybody else is watching or getting ready to watch the World Series?  Game 1 starts in about 5 minutes - may the best team win!!!

Awesome to know another 'family member' is watching! Enjoy the game Betty - I love all the young players - they just seem so into the game vs. the drama/being famous.....

I love to watch good players play hard and so far, both teams are impressive!

15 Innings and 5+ hours of baseball = tired MIP family member today. I will admit I dosed off sitting upright as the game was so long, but what a great game!

Both teams battled and it was a great game. Royals take Game 1 - Game 2 is tonight!

I'll be watching again!

Betty - I am sure you are rooting for the Mets so my apologies that as both teams head to NY, we are up 2-0 on games. Today is a game of 'rest' for all us fans and tomorrow night will be game 3. There's still a ton of ball left!!

(((Hugs)))

Cheers Betty - I couldn't agree more! Even though I am a Royals fan, I can empathize with the Mets players - it's so hard to loose when you've worked so hard for this....

Here's to tomorrow my friend - we can yak before the game and keep tabs on innings!!! :)

Hey Mike - good to know we have another baseball fan! I would say these 2 teams are very well matched and that makes it so much more exciting to watch. I also like that all the players appear to be excited about the game and not the fame. Every single player and play I've seen so far has been about hard work and effort not appearances.

Hats off to both teams, managers and of course, the players!! I am grateful for a night off though - need a bit of rest before 'we' the fans go again...

biggrin I don't watch the game anymore but I was a Mets fan years ago. I watched the night they became the Amazing Mets in 1969 when they played Baltimore Orioles. Of course being from an A family, they broke out the champagne that night..LOL (ya know I have to throw some A stuff in there )     I was 9 years old. I lived in NJ at the time and we even went the Shea Stadium a few times that summer now that in itself was very amazing.  Manager Gil Hodges  let see there was Tom Seaver... Tommie Agee, Cleon Jones...among many more greats.. I think I watched for a few more years after that and then stopped thinking about baseball until my son was 5 yrs old...LOL and he played right on through high school.... she felt like sharing because it brought back some good memories...  Enjoy the game ladies and Mike.

So sorry Jerry that your team is not present!!! Glad you're enjoying all the same!

Betty - I truly enjoyed watching the young pitcher who started. Goodness - he's a might good pitcher once he settled in. So composed with such a large stage - WOW!!!

Here's to more baseball tonight. I have to admit that the Baseball is going to trump Halloween at my home. I'm going to turn out the lights and hide - I want to watch the game!!

Enjoy the day before us all!

Sorry Jerry I have been there many times. :)
Yes the pitcher. aka "Thor " is amazing for a 23 year old. The other young amazing player is deGrom who lost one of first games-
When I watch them sometimes I feel as if I am back watching a"Little League" game, they are so young
have to get some work done today so I can enjoy tonight. Good idea about turning off the lights and simply watching the game :)

Betty - I agree - deGrom was also phenomenal. He worked his backside off, and is also incredibly talented. They both remind me of my boys, who played Baseball for years (until they took a different path). Both were pitchers, one left and one right and very talented at the time.

I admit, every now and then I get a twinge of sadness that they gave up their fun activities when they did, but then remember their lives/stories are still unfolding!

Enjoy the day - I am headed to a meeting in a while and also got some things to get done before tonight!

(((Hugs))) to all!

Reading your post I want to start watching again!!!

1986...Mets lose game #1 by one run and lose game #2 by six runs.
They come back to win game #3 by six runs.
Fast forward to 2015...Mets lose game #1 by one run and lose game #2 by six runs.
They come back to win game #3 by six runs.

Awwww Betty - game 5 tonight! Miracles can happen - although for this moment on this day, I'll not join you!!! Just for today!

You know, both teams just have so much heart and soul. If the Mets had not made those errors, I believe they would have won. I absolutely have loved when Billy Joel and Demi Lovato sang the National Anthem. There's just something about that event that sets the stage for the game.

So - Game 5 tonight!! I'll be watching!!

Have a great day girl...

Woot-woot......Honestly, I am sad that baseball season has ended! I enjoy it more than Football, but I guess I'll just have to adjust!!!

Next year it is - have a great day Betty!

I will say that the Mets were super classy after the game. I didn't stay up for everything, but they did come out and thank their fans - that's not easy to do and was very cool to see...I thought I'd share as I don't know if you made it up for the whole game or not. It was later in your world than it is in mine!
