ODAT 10-18

The ODA T for October 18 asks that we take the time to consider some intangibles. It points out that  attitudes are conveyed to other people by what we say and do and how we say it .--- If our attitudes truly reflect what we feel.

Gentle actions and soft courteous words may only be counterfeit to the way we think.  We may stuff our  resentments, and  self righteousness but they are still there and speak in our silence  They dwell in some Mysterious Way, seeping out of  us denying the pretended feelings we are attempting to  convey ,  I did find this to be so true.

The daily reminder states  that if  you change  what we say and do and do not  change our attitude we are  only covering up reality and living in denial and pretend.
We must search out the  troublesome emotions that we have been trying to hide, let them go and then compassion and empathy will be easily expressed. .-- Al-Anon's fourth through 10th step has helped me tremendously in this endeavor.

Quote is from William Shakespeare." There are more things in heaven and earth that I picked up in your philosophy."

 Have a great day

Thank you Betty for todays ODAT reading, it reminds me of the
old adage that we eventually have to "Walking the Talk" ... so
we best not deny our true feelings, come to terms with them
and resolve those old troublesome issues. Happy Sunday!!

Great daily and great wisdom!!! I can relate to this as my body language used to speak volumes for my insides without my mouth opening up....

It is only through working on me with the tools of this program that I've become a better person with a better attitude and that reflects from the inside out. I can still let my shoulders drop if I am sad and/or frustrated, but with the power of prayer that I learned here, I don't have to stay there.

Taking the time each day to do something or somethings just for me and program related has been a game changer for my attitude, outlook actions/reactions. My heart, head, words and body language are more aligned now than ever before. Thank you MIP family and Al-Anon for the many gifts that have helped me change me!

Happy Sunday back @ both of ya!
