Thought for Today ~ Courteous ~ 10/16/15

I will take every opportunity to be courteous to those nearest me,

as well as those outside my orbit. The warmth and kindness of

courtesy will take the sting out of resentments, and give dignity

and importance to the members of my household, making them

feel secure and loved.

"Courtesy makes a less troublesome game of life.

Misunderstandings melt away; it gets rid of the

avoidable obstructions."

TGIF to you all!!

Hi Debbie, Treating everyone with courtesy and respect has been an Alanon principle that I have embraced from early on. I know prior to program I was so not where my feet were so that I interacted with everyone with indifference and haste.

It is amazing what a difference this change in attitude made in my day.

Hope you are feeling better.

Debb - thanks for the lovely post and your ESH!!!

I try to do my best with this....I can admit that I am not always super patient when out and about running errands, so have been working hard to be a nicer driver as well as a patient waiting person in lines/check-outs. The program has gifted me with self-awareness that when I am hungry, angry, lonely or tired, I am even less patient....So - I do try to be mindful of my physical and spiritual condition which helps me be a nicer, kinder person.

TGIF back @ ya - hope you are feeling better!

Have lost the fever, now working on this disgusting cough! Definitely the flu ... at least

I can say now that ... "I've been there done that" .... for the flu season this year. What

a way to spend one's vacation  ....  cry

Thank you IAM and Betty for asking.

So glad you are rid of the fever Debb - keep your rest going....I am still coughing from when I was down - and that was 3 weeks ago +/- In my case, I think I've got some allergies also compounded the situation.

(((Hugs))) to you - prayers for healing fast!

Debb...what a winner post and I agree and desire to practice the habit of courtesy on a daily basis with everyone I meet during the day alcoholic, addict or not.  I made up my mind years ago that "Practicing the program was exactly what to do...daily...all the time".  MIP puts the shine on my recovery...thank you all.  (((((hugs))))) wink
