The Outcry in the Barrio

Friends,

After several rehab failures, a lost marriage, a DWI and ruined relationship my ex AW has finally found a wonderful program in San Antonio that may, just may help. It's called Outcry in the Barrio. They are a faith based program that has no therapy, no AA meetings, no pills. Just Jesus. 7 days a week, 6 hours a day. It has an 80% success rate. People stay there 3-6 months and it is free (donations accepted). They also have locations in every major Texas city.

They have a great FB page and I am very optimistic it may work. An expert from a recent visitor.

Just back from San Antonio, Texas.

Hank Houghton and I went to meet with pastor Jubal Garcia, the son of an old friend of ours, now the ...head of Outcry In The Barrio, the most impressive recovery home program I've ever encountered. Hank ministered two services at the main home. I attended the evening session. As I listened to Hank minister and watched the young men and women's response, I was moved to tears. This was the real deal! I didn't see people in recovery, these young people were so focused on the message and their hope and interest in the Gospel so intense that they reminded me of an elite corps of military cadets attending Westpoint, Annapolis or the Air Force Academy. I'm not suggesting that the atmosphere was like the military, it wasn't, it was disciplined but genuinely loving. It was the quality I saw in these young men and women. They came stained, battered and bruised, ruined by the estimate of many but what I saw in them was as powerful a testimony as I've seen in years to the transformational power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Any church or organization would be proud to have a cadre of such men and women. I was inspired afresh for our heroin and meth saturated cities. It's not just a program at the root of the success I saw, it's their emphasis on the Gospel! Having said this, I also believe that the inspired recovery home concept and model that has been developed over decades by pastor Jubal's father, Freddy Garcia, his family and their faithful partners is the key component, the fertile ground if you will, for the creation of an environment in which Gospel seed may take root in human hearts.

The thing that rings most true with me is their genuine love for people and their sincere desire and motivation to help to help those who've lost their way to find themselves. They're experienced, they know who they are and what they're called to do and they're they're doing it. They're very good at organization but are far more interested in impacting lives than building an organization. They've got something going that's real and it's really worth looking at and learning from. All I know is this; If what I saw in San Antonio was happening all over our country, we'd see the great awakening we all long for and we'd get our country back.

Hi Tx, I have a few friends who have been saved in that way. Gave their lives over, never touched another drop. I hope it works for your wife, but that is entirely in HPs and her hands. if she gives it entirely to her HP, that is really what it's all about anyway, right?
