The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method

level.
The C2C reading for October 2 speaks about giving service in Al-Anon. It points out that the reason that service is so important is that it usually brings us in frequent contact with newcomers and we are then able to share the vital gifts that we have received, and reflect on our growth at the same time.
When we set out literature, make coffee or chair a meeting, we become someone a newcomer might approach. Service helps us to appreciate the fact that we are no longer alone, that no matter what is going on in our lives, we have a fellowship that will support us and not give in to the negativity regarding an unimportant event.
The quote is from In all our affairs; "God did for me when I couldn't do for myself. He got me involved in service work it-- saved my life my family, my serenity."
