The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The C2C reading for September 13 speaks about living one day at a time so as to make every day an important day. Each day we can try to improve our relationship with HP,the people in our lives, and ourselves by using the 12 steps, prayer mediation and alanon principles to help us pursue this goal.
Regardless of our circumstances, Meetings, Al-Anon telephone calls Al-Anon literature, all help us to work the Steps and learn how to apply these to what is happening in our lives.
When we do this consistently , we can make a positive change.
We can think of time as a checking account--We have this day, 24 hours and can then plan how can we can spend it in a life affirming manner.. By focusing our attention on using Al-Anon principles in our lives.we are choosing to use these hours to grow, enjoy and improve.
The quote is from Jean Toomar; "we start with gifts, and merit comes of what we make of them.".
I am so grateful that alanon principles have become so much a part of my thinking ,feeling and believing inner attitudes so that my negative ANTS have been replaced.
This program is not an easy one to embrace, however I did find that with daily dedication, to the principles, my self esteem and self worth were been restored and I have received, additional courage serenity and wisdom for the journey. Great trade of to replace my negative "go to tools."
I agree with Paul - I really like the way to consider the resource of one day or 24 hours.
This is a concept that I hold on to dearly. Before the program, it seems the majority of the time when I was restless, irritable or discontent, it was because I was dwelling on the past or projecting into the future. Staying in this day and accepting what is just for this day is so much easier than the way I viewed/processed before.
I am grateful for this program, MIP, all of you and for those who came before me and stick around to share ESH! I wonder at times where would I be without all 'this'? I can say that for this day, and this space of time in my life, I am living and feeling as if it should have 'always been this nice'. Life is reasonably good right now, and that has nothing to do with my As. It's the way I choose to think, act and spend my 24 hours.
Thanks Betty as always for your service and ESH!
