My landlady is a miserable person.This woman has bullied me for long enough,I have had problems with her before and I am not giving her any more power.Long story short,I have been having electrical problems,while I was focused on the funeral my electric wasn't working and my food spoiled.I came home from the funeral and had to throw all my food out and clean the fridge.I just paid my electrician to do some work inside and he said the problem was the outside meter,she called him and he verified it.She didn't believe him so she sent another electrician out,he said it was an inside problem.I called the power company,they came out and checked and it is definitely an outside problem which she is responsible for.Now the problem is she wants me to pay for the electrician she sent out!I am not doing it,I am struggling now as it is after paying an electrician to do inside work and now I have to replenish all my food,I will have to go to a food pantry.The power company fixed it the best they could,but he said it is going to fall off,so let it.I am not paying it,if it falls off it will also cause problems for my neighbor so she will have to fix it.All of the meters here are old and a lot of them have recently been replaced so it must be time for them to go,so I am not falling for this again.I am not paying that bill.
Check with your states legal services, or bar association, or google landlord tenant laws for your state. There are regulations about what a landlord must provide tenants, how disputes are handled. They even have a phone number you can call to et legal advice for yhis type of problem.
Good grief, I am Sorry, (((( mjferg )))) after everything you have recently been through, you certainly dont need this hassle. Remember we are powerless over PEOPLE..places and things....it is good you are not letting her bully you anymore.
