C2C 9-6

The C2C reading for September 6 speaks about the slogan:
":How important is it". The reading  states that many of us obsess  over something that might be irritating us in the moment , telling ourselves that this is a very important issue.

.If we actually stopped and asked ourselves the question"A year from now,- Will this issue be important"? we might be able to look at the situation in a healthier fashion.

The reading suggests that  Al-Anon  can help us to address our larger concerns in life. A great example is that we can ask ourselves,"How can I make better contact with HP,r "Am I taking time to enjoy the present moment?, " Am I being the person I want to be?"" What can I give thanks for today?".  All of these are issues that will improve our lives.

The reminder for today states that our priorities are important. If we're too busy with smaller less meaningful concerns we  can review our priorities  so as to think about what really matters.

Quote is from Alateen One Day  at a Time,: "Today I use the slogan, "how important is it" it will help me think things through before I act and it will give me a better picture of just what is important in my life."

This is one slogan that I was very cautious about using. Before entering program I minimized everything in my life and therefore  (especially my needs). Entering Al-Anon, I discovered that I needed to draw boundaries and see what was important to me. Making myself invisible was not a healthy thing to do and so I had to make myself, important. Al-Anon gave me the tools to do that so now if I choose I can actually  look about and ask the question how important is it.? I did that yesterday when I accidentally discarded a DVD on the way to the beach.  Love how program jumped in and I was able to distinguish the importance on go on to the beach without  worry .  Called when I returned home after a fantastic day at the beach and resolved the issue.

Thank you alanon.

Thanks Betty for the daily and your ESH. i am one that fretted about 'everything being perfect' before program. I would worry and fret to the point of almost no peace and no joy. I was so wrapped in the details of life that I never saw the beauty.

I've come to accept and appreciate this slogan for it's value in how I now see all the 'things' that need to be done. Most of it can/will wait and none of it is as important as doing what I need to do to stay calm and peaceful.

My life, my days and my home are all a 'better place' when I am able to realize most of what I used to fret about was just not that important in the grand scheme of life.

The Beach is a priority Betty, or so my program suggests today. So is laughter, family, etc. The rest - not so much.

Hope your day is great and you've got a ton of peace and serenity today!
