C2C 9-3

The C2C reading for September 3 speaks about coming into Al-Anon and  finding  that we have built a lifetime of dreams and promises reserved for a special day called:" Someday"

. It points out that we tell ourselves that "someday", I'll call my friend that I lost touch with, "someday" I'll let them know how I feel," someday" I'll be happy,"Someday" I will , meditate, find a job, speak my mind , "someday" just wait and see.

Al-Anon has helped me to see that today can be that someday, that I've always wanted. Truthfully there isn't enough time in these 24 hours to do everything I hope to do.and  I must remember there is time to start making my dreams come true.

By asking my HP for guidance and taking some steps in the direction of my dreams. I will be able to accomplish more than I would ever have thought possible.

Reminder for today: "States that I will not wait for approval or a rainy day or the 366 day of the year, or" Someday" to accomplish the things in my life.

The quote is from the Jonathan Wolfgang von Goethe; "Each indecision brings its own delays and days are lost lamenting over lost days---
what you can do or think you can do, "begin it. " For boldness has magic, power and genius in it.

I love living in the present  moment and enjoying each day as it is presented to me.  I know prior to program  I was so absorbed  by worrying about the past or projecting my fears into the future I could not have a  true present, moment-enjoy the beauty in the day or even take a small action to fulfill a dream .  Today thinks to the small powerful tools of alanon I can place a foundation under  my dreams and know that life is  a process and it is always progress not perfection that  I seek.

What plans do you have for someday aww ?

Thanks Betty
Lots of my Someday I Will's have become Yesterday I Did's since i found al-anon. Currently I am working on "someday I will finish my degree". And also "Someday I will get out and make some friends"".
It's much more fun actually doing it

Thanks, Betty!

Lots of my "someday I wills" have also become "I dids" and "I am doings" since coming to Alanon.

Giving myself the permission to enjoy today instead of waiting for someday to enjoy what I like to do has made a huge difference in my life. AND, giving myself permission to deal with today's issues instead of putting them off to deal with someday has resulted in me taking care of a lot of things that I avoided in the past. Coming full circle, not having to worry about those someday issues has freed up more time for my to enjoy the someday activities that I like.

Someday I am going to have a clean and organized house. The work I have done the past 2 weekends has already make a huge difference, and with a long weekend coming up, that clean and organized house is getting closer and closer to being one of my "I dids"!

I agree with MissM and Skorpi, since Al-anon, my somedays are now, everyday.

I feel so behind - *sigh*!!!

I was a someday person for a long, long while. I will say that someday thinking has changed tons since Al-Anon! Not all of my dreams can happen today but I can do something for them - small steps = progress, growth and change.

This...."Each indecision brings its own delays and days are lost lamenting over lost days .... is so spot on and super powerful and how I used to be! I could get frozen into non-action just by second guessing or over-thinking or ? before this program.

So grateful for the journey and the tools and the fellowship I've found here that helps me know that someday can be right here and now - today!
