Al-Anon Acronym For 8/18/15 ... N.U.T.S.

NUTS .  Not. Using. The. Steps.

When I read a step and think about it deeply, I find it opens the door to new insights.

When I read that same step again, it reveals new spiritual ideas. They seem to dig into

our consciousness and unearth for us the wonderful potential for good in all our

relationships with life. (One Day At a Time in Al-Anon, pg.141)

This I find the most truth in  my relationships with everyone, including my AH, well most everyone, has become

so much more relaxed.  By relaxed I mean that I project less, worry and fear less, that there will be hurt.  If someone

has an agenda or big ego, it has become so much easier for me to walk away from the chaos and drama.

Thank you Al-anon and have a great day everyone!

Thank You Debb, I have read many of your posts this morning and am trying to get a grasp on all of this. You have been very helpful. Im still dealing with Step 1, just got my foot in the door..(well online anyway with caution) but I am here. I was actually scared at first but the more I read the more relaxed I have become...so again Thank You! Debra

Love the NUTS.....LOL! Seriously do love nuts, but love the above!

What a great reminder of what truly works for us to grow, restore health and find serenity and happiness.

I remember the first time I was going through my dailer readers for the second time. I kept wondering what on earth was wrong with my brain that these all appeared 'new' to my head/heart. It wasn't that my brain was broken, it's that as I grow in this program, phrases take on new meaning.

One slogan used here often is: Trust God, Clean House & Help Others. So, I literally used to clean my house when I was restless, irritable or discontent. Sometimes I still do, but I can also 'clean house' by doing some step work or by making a gratitude list and/or an asset list.

Thanks so much Debb for the post!! Loving the discussions on the Slogans!!
