thank God for life changing honesty my local meeting is helping to make me see the need daily to practice this program every day of my life.
my feelings may get hurt " just for today" but I will try not to show it.
i worked through hurt feelings and overcame a terrible thought I had about my hermit/ alcoholic son. I started to think that if only his father hadn't had revived him from possible near cot death when he was months old then he wouldn't be suffering this malady now.
i soon saw that this way of thinking was futile and non accepting of the things I cannot change.
i feel able though to say that thing that other people would judge me for, which helps my mental Health
Thankyou to my fellowship on Monday nights and the grace of God for my life
and Thankyou miracles in progress for being there for me and Betty u are a special one.
((Quaker))I have had similar thoughts and am so grateful to be able to share them so honestly with my Al-Anon members.. When I share my inner fears and others it was amazing to discover that I was very" human" and others had the same thoughts and feelings as well. We are powerless and HP is truly in control
Yesterday's reading in the Courage to Change reminds us that these thoughts will come into our heads, and we can use the tools to dispersed them.--- they only harm us if we ponder them or act on them.
I love the reading in the ODA T that tells us that if we want to know how the program works. Use the letters in the word "HOW -- honest , open and willing. It sounds as if you are doing all three. Congratulations, you are a miracle in progress .
(((Quaker))) - I can relate to similar lines of thinking. I have a few program friends that I am willing to share those thoughts with and have at times blurted out some of that thinking in meetings. When I am processing 'that' it seems almost logical, while unhealthy. When I share it, I can 'see' the insanity of my thinking. That goodness for the program and those in it who do not judge us for our crazy/controlling/obsessive thoughts and ways.
I too appreciate you sharing. It does again make me know I am in the right place!
