I'm so calm.

It just hit me.  I have a fair amount going on...I share custody of 2 young kids that I'm present and engaged with, I'm navigating the emotions of divorce, drafted a legal separation mostly on my own, got our house repaired and under contract (fingers crossed the sale goes through), am getting my financial ducks in a row to buy another small place of my OWN (which seems to annoy my ex to no end), I'm kicking ass at my job and got a raise, hitting the bricks to find a new place and have to do it in the next two weeks to coincide with my home sale, etc.

And I'm calm.  I have this unwavering belief that everything is fine and is happening as it should.  I'm counting my blessings, and they are MANY.  I'm not worried about finding a new place for me and my kids.  It will happen.  I'm not worried about my ex needing to tell me 5x what a bad decision I'm making to buy a home in this market because "she's concerned for my well being."  Thanks for your concern, but I trust my judgement.

As the Jamaicans say, everyting irie mon!  I got this.  Do I still have inner-work to do and more healing to be done after I've finished splitting from my ex?  Yup.  Am I worried about it?  Nope.  What a gift patience is.  What a difference a year makes.

Chad, I want what you have. Good for you. I think your gratitude list is powerful.
You are really doing a series of tasks one after the other. Showing me how it's done.

Kudos to you LLM for taking it as it comes! I too like it when I am there, unfortunately, it doesn't always happen that way and I have to regroup to stay in the now.

Congrats on the raise, the forward progress and the life decisions, which all sound well-planned! May the next couple weeks go as needed - positive thought and prayers sent your way!

Thanks for the inspiring share! So glad you are here!

LLM I need to borrow some of this positive attitude from you! We are also under contract on our home sale and looking for an inexpensive apartment to rent. We are limited on where we can go because I am trying to keep my two teens in the same schools. One apartment that was perfect fell through as someone had already completed the application process and was about to sign a lease. There are very few choices out there that are in my budget and that also allow a dog. I've been disgusted and depressed for the last couple days over this. We were going to move in with my parents but that fell thru (long story). I applaud your calmness and go getter attitude in this situation! It was nice to see your post this morning. I am going to try not to stress and believe everything will work out for the best. Congrats on your raise and Good luck to you and your family!

Nice post LLM!  I see a man practicing the principles in ALL his affairs.  I true testament of how to turn your will and life over to the care of a Higher Power.  Faith > Fear.  True serenity is not being okay when our circumstances(people, places and things) are fine, but being okay even in the midst of a disturbance or outside turmoil.  Thanks man-powerful!

Thanks for the support all! The biggest gift is seeing the bright side in many things now. If the sale of my house goes south? It's still a win because now it's been inspected and we know what needs to be addressed. If I can't find a home I want and can afford in this market? No big deal, on to plan B because it wasn't meant to be just yet.

I'm in danger of becoming a freaking optimist.

It's pretty weird and amazing hotrod. I used to call myself a "realist" which turned out to be code for "pessimist".

@ Yankeerose, I feel for you girl. I can only imagine the challenge of doing a move like that with two teenagers. One thing I tell myself is that even if I don't find a place I love, I can find a place that will do for now and there's always another day. And I'll have time to save some money and look around with less pressure. I hope you find a safe spot to land.

Exactly LLM! Believe it or not we just landed a small condo today that will allow a dog and it's where the kids can attend the same schools. They are already fighting over who gets the bigger bedroom so it's going to be a challenge for a year. I look at it this way: the alternative is to be homeless so this is much better! I have also come to believe that things will fall into place as they are meant to be. This program helps me think that way. It has been a lifesaver for me.
