My wife who previously had an addiction problem before we met and went through the program to get clean 15 years ago started drinking a few years ago. It has slowly progressed into a serious problem and I am pretty new to understanding this and trying to get her help.
With some help from her parents I am trying to plan an intervention as soon as possible. However the few places I was recommended quoted me $7500 as a standard fee. I simply cannot afford that. It is enough of a stress on my finances to consider the costs of any rehab program, and figuring out what I can do with our children (7 and 4) while she is in a program.
Can anyone recommend any places or people I can contact in the NJ area?
Welcome to MIP and glad you found us. I am not in the 'know' for any support services in your area, but you might be able to call the AA Central Office for help.
I found a number using Google that might help you - 1-800-245-1377.
I just googled NJ Central Office for AA.
Best to you and all as you seek help and recovery!

I'm so sorry this is happening. One thing you should know before spending the money is that interventions have a very low success rate. For sobriety to "take," the drinker has to want to be sober. Interventions may make a drinker agree to enter a program, but often they are not convinced to want actual sobriety. So the money is spent and people are back where they started.
Sometimes AA members will go talk to someone considering sobriety, not for pay but as a service. Some of the foiks on here may know more about that.
I hope you'll look into meetings for yourself. When one person (for instance you) goes into recovery, the whole family benefits and dynamics change.
I know these services are very expensive I would call the AA hotline listed in your white pages They might be able to recommend one or they would be able to send a member over to work a 12th Step call. Good luck.
Please check out alanon meetings as well -Face to Facee meetings are held in most communities and offer help to familes
In so many things like this we forget about ourselves, and concentrate on the other person. I would urge you to check out Al Anon meetings yourself. You will get empathy and help from other like-minded individuals, and you may even find out more about interventions in the area.
Thank you all. I will be attending my local Al-anon meeting on Monday and reaching out to AA to see if they can help put me in touch with the right people.
Hi Paradigm, you can try to contact this organization: recoveryadvocates.org
They are located in Hamilton, NJ (Mercer County). They set my AH up in a rehab in FL several years ago. I believe they may have some information on interventions although at the time they told me I had to get my husband to come into their office and agree to talk to the counselors there. That was really tough. Good luck to you.
