So Today was a Typical Over Reacted Morning from my AH, Trying My Best not to Jump on "HIS" Crazy Train...lol
I went out last night with some Al-Anon Ladies, for Dinner and a Swim, and didn't get home till almost 11pm ;) I had a Wonderful time, and the fellowship was amazing ;) There was a Lady in our Company that just 2 days before her ADad had Committed Suicide, he was in his 80's... She said she hadn't been able to get out of bed for days, and was So Grateful we invited her to join us... It was So Nice to See Her Smile and Laugh thru the Tears, and you could just see it Breathed life back into her... THAT Is what My Program does for People... I Love to watch them Transform into a Better Place even if only for a Short while...
It's Nice to Escape our own Reality's at times and just Laugh for no reason, and know you are in Safe Company...
Something I WISH I Could explain this to my Husband but I have Given up on him being Interested in My Program, His Disease is Just as Bad as Mine was, but the difference I guess is I have Found a Place to go and Share, and Do my Best to Change the old me too the New Me, and he chooses to just be Miserable at times to the degree of Insanity...
He is Currently pouting because I didn't get home till late, he knew of my plans weeks ahead, and I didn't put a time on them... My Program has Slowly Taught me how to Only Claim what is mine, but when you are Ignored and treated with attitude at times over Petty stuff it can become unnerving at times and truly suck the life out of me... I think what makes it worse is we run a Small Company and we Not only Live together but Work together everyday, and these little pouts make "easy" days... Hard...
I Wish he was the kinda person that would just say... "THIS PISSES ME OFF Because!" but instead he will pout thru out the day, and sometimes into the next day where if anything at all is said, he snaps back with short answers and always makes you feel crumby... I Use to Coddle him and Beg him to tell me what was wrong, and He would Eat that UP, and still be a Butt... Since Al-Anon I have Realized its Not my Job...
My Husband doesn't drink everyday or every week for that matter, he fits the Binge Drinker Most times, and others times he is def. the Dry Drunk... I Wish he Could have Al-Anon and Accept that he doesn't have to be this way or live like this, but that's not where he is at... And I have Many Times Invited him to Join me.. Even if just for a Peak...
We have Come along way since I Started Al-Anon, we do Communicate a lot better then we once did, but he still has a Roller Coaster of a Week, Most Weeks... He can be Great in a Wonderful Mood, and one Flick the Switch can throw him into insanity, and he rides that wave like that is all he has to hang onto...
I've Gotten Better at Not Jumping aboard, but sometimes the Game Gets old, and I would Just like to Enjoy the Fact that I had a Wonderful time, and He was OK with it... or Even Happy for that Matter...
Thank God for My Program, and All of You... Because I Refuse to jump On & Off the Crazy Train to Suit Another's Tantrum... I have done it all my Life, and I know in my Heart of Hearts, My HP does not want that for Me... and I'm Worth Way More then being miserable even ONE Day.... Thank God for the Gift of Letting Go & Letting God, because before I got here, I wanted to Smooth everything over and Please Everyone and Everything but Me... NOW... I am Slowly Learning to let things be as they May, and the Only things I Can Fix... Are ME....
I Guess today is a Day of "Detach with Love" Because Otherwise I May have to Slap him, and that would be Very UN-Al-Anon...
Thanks so much for sharing your outing! It sounds as if you had a great time with fellowship - love that about the program.....love inside and outside the rooms.
I can relate to the crazy reactions from the As. I have discovered that all 3 of mine are really into immediate gratification and when that's not happening/real, they also resort to full-blown temper tantrums or silent scorn. I have to also work my program hard just to stay on my side of the street. It gets easier and easier unless I am not as spiritually fit as I could be - then I'm more likely to accept the dance.
I love that you are seeing the progress in your relationship and not stuck on the 'yet to get better' portions. That speaks volumes to me about your program and how you've embraced it. If your world is like mine, it will pass in an unspecified amount of time (of their choosing) and then we're all expected to act as if nothing happened. Perhaps yours is different and you can have a discussion - that rarely happens in my world.
(((Hugs))) to you and glad for your post and the reminder of 'detaching with love'. I often contemplate a slap as well - wish (then) it was one of our tools!!

YES... Mine Needs Immediate Gratifications as well, and there was a Time I Would Jump thru Hoops to Give it too him while Slowly Tearing every Shred of Me to Pieces... And I know if I didn't have such an Amazing Night Last Night with my Al-Anon Family I too would be Easier to Jump on His Train... Or Dance his Dance...
And YES, When he Comes down off this Tantrum we will then do the Dance of "I don't know what your Talking About!" and we will then head to Pretend where None of it Happened... and it is Just that.. A Dance...
I Do Truly Adore My Husband, and he has So Many Wonderful Quality's that even he don't give himself Credit for, but some times I think I would be Better off Being his "Customer" then His Wife, because they def get the better Treatment most days...
Thank you for your Kindness and Sharing this Program because I Grow with you all... One Day at a Time :)
Jozie.
I too work with my AH in a family business and I totally agree with you! I would rather be a customer most days!!! He is so attentive, polite and helpful to them! Made we smile to hear someone else feels that way. Thanks.
You were on my mind this AM, so wanted to share that my hopes is the 'episode' has calmed and the home is peaceful again! I agree with Betty - you got this girl....
I will admit that when mine are 'stuck' in this mode, I seek to find a bit of humor in it all. When I look at my life from outside the circle of chaos, it is kind of funny in a strange way - where else can you go and experience so many different emotions within such a short period of time - 24 hours?
(((Hugs))) to you - may your day be filled with peace and love!!

Guess the Husband Missed Me since he Ask me to Go for a Walk with him when i got Home that Night, and Since then.. The Man I Fell in Love with is Back... FOR NOW...lol Today we had a Great Day Riding Our ATV thru the woods on some trails, and YES... 'Nothing ever happened, It was ALL in my Head!" lol (Which of Course I KNEW already!!!) lol
I am Here... I have Always Said if it wasn't for My Humor in ALL things, I don't think I Could Survive, However it is Nice to Know that SOMEONE Else Completely Understands My Kinda Crazy :)
Thanks for All the Faith in Me Friends :) I Couldn't do it without you
Kudos to you for doing your thing and what a great weekend you had. I applaud your energy and think we are more alike than I knew before! I would love to see any new photos you have - I love the outdoors and being in it and active. Your weekend sounds like my kind of fun!
And - yes - that's the best part of our MIP family! We can come here and share any and every thing and everyone just nods. We all get it. And most have lived it!
So glad that it was all in your head (ha-ha-ha-ha) and it's now already in the past. Love and hugs back at you!!

Thank You both for Compliments I Truly Enjoy being out in Nature ;) And Yes Ms. Betty it is an Old Covered Bridge From Early 1800's, they redid some of it in the 1980's due to Flood Damage :) its a place I Go when I know I Need to Recharge ;) I Been Going there since I was about 12yrs old... A Great Place to Feel Close to God ...
My Son's Senior Pictures I Did here as well... And the Bridge & Falls are Amazing, but along the Crick there is Unimaginable Beauty... Just Love it there ;) Cliff Faces, Rock Jumping, Swimming, and the Sights ;) Its Great Because its Tucked back in the Mountains, so If Your Not a Local you don't know it exists... So Not Many Go there ;) I LOVE IT :) My Little Slice of Heaven :)
