Hope for Today. July 21

good morning everyone-

Today's reading is about unity and how it applies to our alanon groups and our recoveries.  For me the power of unity is felt every time I come to this site and read a post that makes me think 'oh yes I have been there' or ' I have felt just like that'.  The strength in unity has been felt at face to face meetings when I have learned something new every time I've gone.  It's knowing that after feeling so alone for so long-- we are not alone!

The thought for the day says 'a feeling of unity of as close as the nearest Al-Anon meeting.'  At first glance I thought it read:  'a feeling of SANITY is as close as the nearest Al-Anon meeting.'  Both are true for me!  I have felt unity in meetings as strength, comfort, hope, faith and determination.  Since I have come to the program it has felt as if  there are people around me saying 'we are all in this with you'.

For any newcomers that might be here I say-  you are not alone and we are right here with you.

hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

mary

Mary Thanks for sharing this reading from HFT. Unity was the topic of my F2F meeting last night as well.

The thought of being united together for a common cause , of not being alone, of connecting with others who"Understood as few others can" is a powerfully healing medicine that is provided my simply attending alanon meeting and posting here on MIP.

I would like to add that before program I always loved to consider myself a "Loner" who did not need people.  Alanon has shown me that I cannot do this life alone and that by uniting with like minded people I can not  on;y survive but thrive

Thank you alanon

Thanks for your service.

Thank you as well Mary for today reading. The unity I experience

belonging to this group and al-anon has been a sanity saver for

me and as a member, the unity, fellowship and friendships have

given me the ability to share my journey with other members

and that is the most important aspect of the unity that I

feel with and for everyone.  Happy Tuesday everyone!

I too thank you Mary for the daily and your ESH! I too have found no other group/gathering that 'feels' as united as those in recovery. The fellowship and sharing of ESH makes me feel a part of after feeling a part from for so long. It's refreshing to know I am not alone and that others have similar experiences and have survived/thrived!

I love that our common welfare is what brings us and keeps us together. Couldn't ask for a better 'family' than right here @ MIP + F2F Al-Anon meetings.

(((Hugs))) to all!
