C2C 7-18

The C2C reading for July 18 speaks about Al-Anon recovery as a long-term process of growth and change. That our efforts to speed up this process will more than likely interfere and we will feel frustrated and depressed.

"Easy does it " one day at a time , and "Keep it simple" are perfect slogans so as to slow us down.We can then  remember that recovery  is a process and that each time we attempt to use the tools we are growing in recovery. It is important to realize that we must let go of the negative driver" of urgency "that is a result of living with the disease and continue to rebuild.

Today I know that I can plant a seed in fertile soil, but I do not need to help it to grow by tugging at the seed in hope that it will sprout. I have to let the processes unfold at its own pace.

I take my commitment to recovery seriously, but I can't expect to recover overnight.  When I approach my life with an easy does it attitude, I treat  myself and the world about me gently.

And the quote is from "One Day at a Time in Al-Anon":. "When we is interested in one waste try to absorb too much too quickly in Al-Anon we may be discouraged. We would be wise to take it slowly concentrating on one idea at a time

Thank you Betty, reminds me of when I thought I had it nailed and could go it alone,

after a little over a year in the program.  Didn't work out well for me, good lesson!!!

Can't rush a good thing biggrin

Thanks Betty for the daily and also for the ESH!

I have spent most of my life in the All or Nothing mindset. I was either obsessed or turned away and never looked back. I love today's reading as it reminds me that the key for peace for me is balance. Love a little, work a little, pray/meditate a little, service work, etc. - do a little each day and look for balance.

I have gone gun-ho before at this program and many other things only to become discouraged or resentful that it wasn't happening my way or at my pace. This reading reminds me that the ups/down/ins/outs are all part of a bigger plan that I need to accept and grow from.

Moderation is the key for me to have continuous serenity and peace...

Again, thanks for the daily and grateful for Al-Anon & all of you!
