Need help with online meeting info please

Hello all,

I'm desperately trying to get into the online meeting here, but seem to be somehow lost.  I "think" it should be in full swing now, but I logged in to what I thought was the right thing and I am the only one "chatting"... Under the name Gidget.

Please help with instructions if you can.

thanks!

Thank you.

I think I just barely missed you a few seconds ago, but I'll hang around as long as I can.

This is the first time I have attempted an online meeting and I hope to be able to "stay" for this one. I am doing the best I can with the resources I have, but I have additional needs (mostly for information and ESH from others). I know I have soooo much yet to learn and I've seen the benefits of AA and AlAnon with my parents (father was AH, but over 10 years sober before he died...mother still living...went to AlAnan for years, but still lives in a state of denial...although the I'd honestly argue she is the best mother on earth to me!)

When I was young, Mother would drag us girls to the AlAnon meetings with her and yet I married a REAL alcoholic. I think we all married some interesting choices in partners for a myriad of reasons. Anyway, I guess I could speak the language, but I was never mature enough to fully understand everything.

My DH is almost 3 months sober (working the program hard) and is doing so well. I was just about to divorce...like literally had made the lawyer's appointment when he hit bottom. I was soooo happy because it changes everything.

Anyway, I've posted some of this before, but things seem to be looking up (in that area of life) and I am so greatful for this site. The words written here give me so much encouragement and so much hope for the future. Without this board, I would have been completely lost in dealing with the events that happened since the beginning of April.

For anyone reading, the posts made in desperation are the ones that often give me the most benefit, because the wonderful people who respond with honesty and upfront words of wisdom are so on target that I learn from each and every one!

Thank you all!

Doingmybest -

I don't make any morning meetings during the weekend here as I go to F2F both days. I will share that in the last 2-3 weeks, there have been a few times when there was no chair both in the morning and in the evening! If you pop into the chat room, and nobody is there, just hang tight and others usually show up. Often the chairs are late and the meetings start late, but once folks show up, you can certainly just say Hello and begin chatting with anybody there...

I have heard that the online meeting attendance slows a little bit during the summer and that's been true for me too. I've not made an evening meeting in over a week, which is out of the norm for me. Just keep trying and my experience is if you see anybody listed on the right hand side, they will certainly have a discussion/meeting/share with you! Anytime, day or night - that's been my experience!

I'm so glad that you're finding your way in the program. My hope is that you and your hubby keep working your programs and find healing. I've found a ton of healing in Al-Anon and forgiveness and all 3 of my As are still active. But, as I do better, so do they (or I just accept it differently....honestly think both) - very little/no fighting as I just choose to not engage on that level.

(((Hugs))) to you - hope this information helps you!
