Accepted an offer on our house

Well if all goes smoothly in the real estate world we will be moving out of our home of 11 years at the end of August. We finally found a buyer after 3 months. I think I'm still in shock. My kids grew up in this house so there were many good times. But for all the good times there were three times as many bad living with active alcoholism. We haven't been able to afford this house for over 5 years hence the reason I worked 2 jobs. I don't want to do that anymore--heck I don't even want to work one--so this is for the best. We are planning to stay with my parents for a year to save money and hopefully be in a better position to buy something else much more affordable. I am stressing about the day of closing when we have to say goodbye for good to another chapter of our lives. I want very badly to make a fresh start. I know my RAH is sad that it has come to this as he believes it's all his fault. I always told him it was but now I see it wasn't entirely. I am partly to blame as well and let him know that. I think putting the house on the market is what may have pushed him to get help so it had to happen.

Rosanne -

Congrats. on the offer for your home!!! That has to be exciting based on your plans - so happy for you all.

I agree with Betty - keeping your tools close.....at times like this, I tend to get very controlling - deadline looming and all. Work as best you can to stay in the moment/day and trust your HP to get you to the other side.

Keep us posted and YAY for you!!

Thank you both. I definitely need my tools at this time. I am trying to look at this in a positive way and not be afraid of change. I prayed that the right thing would happen. So I trust this is it. And if the deal falls through then that is what was meant to happen.

Wishing you much luck, even though your home sale is bitter/sweet.

I remember selling my home when my children left the nest, I could

not afford to maintain or keep it by myself.  But the sale opened the

door for other possibilities that turned out to be so much better for

me!  I wouldn't look to blame yourself or RAH, because everything

happens for reason and the reasons, over time, usually prove to be

good ones!  You are so lucky to have your family as backup!! Thank

you for sharing Yankeerose!

Thank you Debb for the positive words. They make a lot of sense and really help me to look at this in a good way.
