What a wonderful meeting tradition 5 gave us. Nobody could answer what it meant without reading the tradition out so we changed our agenda and what a blessing that turned out to be.
it was a god led meeting from start to finish which fed the newcomer and old timers alike
the traditions are rarely that effective in my experience but we were rewarded for following the questioning of the newcomer.
Isn't that spectacular? I agree that we get what we need when we need it so long as we are open to receive it.
So glad you had a marvelous meeting! Tomorrow is my meeting day - love my F2F group and it's always a good meeting...no matter the topic.
Feel blessed for sure!

I do love all the traditions especially Tradition five. This is the tradition that actually spells out what Al-Anon is all about.
It states Al-Anon has but one purpose to help families of alcoholics. It then goes on to say how we go about doing this.:
By practicing the 12 steps of AA ourselves, by encouraging and understanding our alcoholic relatives and by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics. This is a very clearly defined format and mission statement and helped me to trust this program.
I have always heard it said that this Steps keep us from suicide and the Traditions keep us from homicide. I do believe the Traditions help to maintain sanity in my everyday life as they do in our group meetings
Thankyou 1911A1
We have a step meeting which does the traditions at the end of every month but something special happened on Monday night I can only call magical.
